Arts & Services for Disabled, Inc. (established 1982): Helen G. Dolas, MS., MT-BC, is the CEO and Founder. ASD is a private non-profit organization dedicated to providing education, training, and therapy in the creative arts to individuals with severe developmental disabilities. Developmental disabilities are conditions acquired before age eighteen and include intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, and autism.
Educators, student teachers and early childhood educators, even those with little or no musical background, join Guitars in the Classroom (GITC) and learn to play basic guitar, lead singing, and employ songwriting across the academic curriculum in their general and special classrooms.
