Weekend Warriors

Document Actions
This nationwide movement of adults getting back into playing music is alive and well – and for all of the right reasons.

What’s a Weekend Warrior?

If you rocked out when you were younger, then gave it up because of your job, family, life responsibilities, etc., – but now want to get back into playing..then you’re a Weekend Warrior.  This nationwide movement of adults getting back into playing music is alive and well – and for all of the right reasons.

Did you know the playing music :

  • is a great way to relieve stress and can be part of your active, healthy lifestyle
  • is a fun way to meet new friends and connect with other musicians like yourself

NAMM supports Weekend Warriors in two ways:

1.  By offering our retail Members a grassroots market-building program designed to get non-active musicians back into making music. The program provides an ongoing activity that creates new long-term customers, rather than a one-time event to boost sales among existing customers. Weekend Warriors targets adults who for one reason or another have stopped playing music and now have significantly more disposable income to spend on their recreational interests. By reconnecting these consumers with music products and the social interaction and fun of being in a rock band again, music products retailers can create loyal customers and steady revenue streams for years to come.

2.  By sponsoring the annual FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands, a national search for the best corporate band that’s now in its seventh year (select link below).

TESTIMONIALS FROM TRUE WEEKEND WARRIORS – LIKE YOU!!!

"My guitar was sitting in the closet for 15 years. Weekend Warriors got me motivated to dust it off and plug it in again. I forgot just how much fun playing is. Once again, music has changed my life!"
- Mark H., District Manager

"I sold my guitar for college tuition. That was 25 years ago, but I just bought a new one. Now that I'm set in my career I can afford all the toys I wanted back then."
- Tag. G, Mechanical Engineer

"The last time my daughter saw me play in a band, she was a year old. When she and her fiancée heard me play in the Weekend Warriors concert, they were amazed at how hip I'd become over the last 22 years!"
- Allen S., Mgr. State Dept. of Aging

"The other guys in the band and myself have become great friends over the past weeks and we plan to continue to practice and play as a group. This time I'm back into music to stay."
- Bob L., Investment Counselor

- Ted G., Exhibition Contractor

"I've spent more money on gear than I want to think about since joining Weekend Warriors."
- Tom V., District Attorney

"I can sum up Weekend Warriors in three words - easy, fun, and more fun. Ok, four words."
