Started by a single elementary school teacher in 2002, the organization now serves thousands of students in six states. Little Kids Rock's programing places emphasis on teaching children to play popular music styles such as rock, rap, funk and reggae. It also teaches young children to compose their own, original music.

Little Kids Rock launches new chapters annually by training public school teachers how to use its proprietary content and by providing them with the instruments that they need to run classes.  In addition to serving children and teachers in the public schools, the organization recently launched a new, on-line television station where individuals anywhere can have access to free video lessons.  This station may be viewed at: www.littlekidsrock.tv.
