Jim Greiner’s Hands-On! Drumming® Drum Circle Facilitator Training Workshops

Document Actions
Communicating, Cooperating & Celebrating Through Rhythm™

Group drumming and rhythm play have been used by people worldwide for thousands of years to:

*build community spirit

*enhance communication & cooperation

*release stress

*energize minds and bodies

*celebrate life!

The power of rhythm to uplift and focus people is timeless and universal.  Drumming, whether in groups or by oneself, is as beneficial in today’s fast-paced, busy world, as ever before.

Jim Greiner, since 1980, has led drum circles and other interactive rhythm based programs for  thousands of corporations, communities, music stores, schools, therapeutic centers and private groups worldwide.  Since 2000, Jim has trained over 500 people from nine countries and four continents in the skills and concepts they can use to facilitate their own drumming programs in a wide range of situations.

Jim has also led one of the few extended length (five hours) workshops, in Drum Circle Facilitation,  at the prestigious Percussive Arts Society International Conference. He has won many awards as a Drum Circle Facilitator, a percussion clinician and as a performing/recording percussionist.

Jim’s DCF workshop focus on the fundamentals of rhythm, percussion instruments and group interaction, including:

*universal rhythmic principles and patterns

*the fundamentals of the instruments used in Drum Circles

*skills and techniques for facilitating drumming programs

*the physical, mental & emotional benefits of drumming

*metaphors used to reinforce the drumming benefits

*designing drumming programs for specific populations, their needs and their goals

*rhythm activities and games

*keeping it fun!

Jim is also a consultant/endorser/clinician for a number of music instrument manufacturers, including Latin Percussion, Sabian Cymbals, ProMark Drumsticks, Gibraltar Hardware and Audix Microphones.  Drum! Magazine has written, “Jim Greiner is one of the pioneers of community drumming, and is perfectly poised to spearhead this movement.”
