Day Programs
Arts & Services currently provides services at four program locations: Achieving Results Together (ART) Center in Long Beach, Therapeutic Arts Program II (TAP II) in Gardena, and Encouraging Personal Independence (EPI) and the Cultural Education Center for the Arts (CECA) in Hawthorne.
Arts & Services adult day programs provide full-time arts-based education, vocational training and therapy towards total personal wellness and quality of life utilizing the creative arts, as well as opportunities for meaningful community inclusion. Day programs also provide support for daily living tasks such as dining comportment and etiquette, medication management and managing personal hygiene. Arts & Services programs serve 150 students daily on an ongoing basis. The arts curriculum includes classes in the visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking), the performing arts (music, drama, dance/movement), and literary arts (poetry, storytelling).
Arts & Services students also engage in the cultural life of the community by attending and contributing to art exhibits, by performing at public venues and attending theatrical performances, and by publishing literary work. These services have reached over 5,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities over the past 25 years.
