Columbus, Ohio – Scott Houston, host of the nationally broadcast public television show, The Piano Guy with Scott Houston, recently won a Midwestern Regional Emmy Award for Program Host/Moderator of a TV program.

The Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) presented Houston with the award during the organization’s 43rd annual Emmy Awards ceremony.

“I’m thrilled and flattered to receive this award,” says Houston. “I am grateful to all the public television stations that air the program, and to the show’s millions of viewers, who have made this honor possible.”

The Piano Guy, produced by Mills James, also received an Emmy for best Graphics and Animation. Mills James producer John Hewitt created, designed and art directed the opening, which features, a mix of live action and graphics, and has Houston “playing” animated notes as he floats through virtual music. Mills James visual effects artist Sean Ivory animated the segment.

“An Emmy Award is one of the highest honors an electronic media professional can win,” says Ken Mills, Executive Producer of the series. “More than just a trophy, the award is the embodiment of one’s work having earned the ultimate respect of your industry peers. Congratulations to Scott, John and Sean for winning these awards.”

Now in its eighth season of production, The Piano Guy with Scott Houston airs on more than 286 public television stations throughout the United States. For more information about the show, visit www.scottthepianoguy.com.
